Four pieces of Meteorite have been found by Nomads in the Tindouf Basin of the Sahara Desert in Algeria, totalling a weight of 243.5 g. This lot has been purchased in Erfoud in 2008 by Norbert Kammel of ROCKS ON FIRE and sent for Classification to the Bathurst Observatory Research Facility in New South Wales, Australia. The analysis confirmed that it is a breccicated Chondrite Type L4-5 with a Shock grade of 2 and a Weathering grade of 2. The Data has been submitted to the Nomenclature Committee for publication in the Meteorite Bulletin and the prov. Name North West Africa 5435 (prov.) has been assigned to it. NWA 5435 shows very nice Chondrules, interesting Breccication and Lithology.
A Specimen not to be missed in any Meteorite Collection.
